Faccani and Tucci start their STK600 debut campaign in great fashion.

The San Carlo Team Italia started where it left off in 2013 by placing its two riders at the top in Saturday's 13 lap Superstock 600 race at MotorLand Aragon. New signings for the team Marco Faccani and Andrea Tucci finished first and second respectively, with Faccani able to pull away in the early stages of the race courtesy of an impressive pace. The Ravenna-born rider was also the only one able to break through the 2'05s barrier by setting the fastest lap of the race in 2'04.951.

Meanwhile, Tucci had to fight his way up from the fifth slot on the grid. The reigning Italian STK600 Champion was able to make the right move for 2nd during the last lap, leaving Aragon with 20 precious points for the title race.

Marco Faccani: "It was a truly, fantastic weekend. It was not an easy win, as during the first laps I lost some time duelling with Tuuli, but I knew my race pace was quite good. I tried to stay focused and I was able to pull away and the riders behind me started to battle out for second position. I would like to thank the Italian Motorcycling Federation, Cristiano Migliorati, Manuel Puccetti and Ohlins Technician, especially Damiano Evangelisti who found a little modification to the setup that made a big difference."

Andrea Tucci: "I'm quite happy. It's just a shame for the early part of the race, as I wanted to save my tyre knowing I could stay with Marco. Unfortunately with two laps to go I made a small mistake at the end of the start/finish straight, but I was able to make up for it. I wanted the podium and I gave everything I had to succeed."
